2026 Internship Opportunities
The TY Danjuma Foundation, an independent private indigenous philanthropic grantmaking organisation with offices in Abuja, Taraba and Edo state seeks to hire young graduates who have completed the national youth service scheme or received an exemption, for a 10-month internship programme at its Head Office located in Abuja.
The internship will run from March 1 to December 18, 2026
The deadline for submission of applications is January 23, 2026.

Finance Intern

We are looking for a driven finance intern with a good understanding of accounting and finance principles. The applicant must be ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under supervision, the intern will participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyse actual financial data, learn more about bookkeeping, and assist with other accounting activities.
To be a strong candidate, the applicant should have a positive attitude towards being collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.
Intern Responsibilities:
The Intern will support the Finance Team in:
- filing, data entry, recording, and maintaining accurate and complete financial records;
- preparing balance sheets, income statements, invoices, and other financial reports; and
- compiling and analysing data.
Requirements:
- Must possess a degree in accountancy or be a certified accountant;
- Proficient with spreadsheet or accounting software;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility; and
- Motivated, with a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.

Grants Intern

The Grant Intern will support the TY Danjuma Foundation’s Grant Unit to ensure that the annual grant cycle is effectively implemented. Specifically, the intern will support the team by assisting with managing the annual grant calendar, performing relevant research, preparing reports, reviewing documents and contracts, and ensuring grantee compliance with the Foundation’s requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Database & Calendar Management: Assist in maintaining the annual grants cycle calendar to track deadlines and update relevant staff on same.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure grantees’ compliance with the Foundation’s requirements and reporting timelines, ensuring all narrative and financial documentation meet the Foundation’s specific guidelines.
- Data Collection: Collaborate with program teams to gather success stories, impact narratives, and project data for inclusion in reports and presentations.
- General Administrative Support: Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting documents, reports, and presentations for the grant’s unit. Participate in programme meetings, taking minutes, and managing supplementary materials required by Management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Law, Communications, English, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
- Strong desk research skills
- Good editing skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, persuasive narratives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
- Familiarity with collaboration platforms like Google Drive and Zoom.
- Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
