On June 22, 2024, Rural Development Reform Foundation (RUDERF) partnered with the TY Danjuma Foundation to implement a programme aimed at “The Enhancing Quality Education” in Benin City, Edo State.  The teacher-focused training programme is dedicated to improving the quality of education through capacity building for teachers and education managers, providing essential instructional materials and infrastructural support to underserved and needy schools, and promoting community ownership and effective management of public schools.


The training tagged “Education Without Borders” pooled 152 teachers from 92 primary schools in seven Local Governments Areas of the Edo South Senatorial District and Esan Southwest, to participate in capacity building exercises. Component of the training included contents delivery, subject matter-centred teaching aid development and usage, and pedagogy.

Session in the training, engaged participants in various hands-on activities related to science technology engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) to deepen learning while conceptualising strategies for implementing them in the classroom.  The training was facilitated by master trainers from Edo State Universal Basic Education Board.

Since 2010, the TY Danjuma Foundation has continued to support interventions aimed at improving education quality in remote and underserved communities, through increasing access to quality education in Nigeria.
