The Foundation’s interventions in Maiduguri date back to 2011, when it began providing humanitarian support for persons displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency, both for emergency relief and to address the healthcare challenges in displaced populations, especially among pregnant women and children under five. In response to the donation, the Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Zulum, thanked the Chairman Emeritus of the Foundation, Lt. Gen. TY Danjuma (rtd) for his continuous support to the state since 2011, including the rehabilitation of over 20 public institutions destroyed by insurgents in Dikwa and the rehabilitation of 10 public schools and several health institutions in Bama. He assured the Foundation of measures to ensure that the resources reach the most vulnerable of the flood victims.

Through the Foundation, Gen. TY Danjuma has invested over $45 million in addressing challenges in the health and education sectors, providing humanitarian support, and empowering the most vulnerable to achieve their full potential. So far, the Foundation has funded projects in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, touching over 10 million lives.
