Dr Ugo Okoli is a seasoned Public Health Practitioner with both national and international experience in various aspects of public health practice. She holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine United Kingdom.
She is currently the Deputy Country Director for Jhpiego Nigeria, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University Baltimore, USA. In addition, she leads the MSD for Mothers funded RICOM3 Project and the USAID funded Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) quality of care (QoC) project implemented by Jhpiego Nigeria. The RICOM3 project is focused on reducing the indirect causes of maternal morbidity and mortality in Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The MCGL, QoC project is focused on providing technical support to the Federal and State governments to improve the quality of MNCH services provided to mothers and children in Nigeria. Dr Okoli has extensive experience in strategic development and implementation of maternal and child health and quality of care programs. She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals (both academic papers and policy documents) and consulted actively on maternal and child health issues, HIV/AIDs, management of chronic diseases (Non- Communicable Diseases) and women’s health issues.
