The TY Danjuma Foundation has in the last 10 years given over 3 billion naira in grants to promote quality health care and education across states in Nigeria. In 2020, the Foundation has awarded the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira (N200, 000.000.00) in grants to 21 not-for-profit organisations to implement 24 health and education projects in seven states and the Federal Capital Territory.

In line with its annual grant making cycle, the TY Danjuma Foundation initiates each grant year with a Grantees’ Training and presentation of cheques to organisations that scale through its rigorous proposal review and selection process. The Training is organised to familiarise selected organisations with the Foundation’s grant making processes; emphasize reporting guidelines and expectations from grantee partners; as well as lay the foundation for seamless interactions between new partners and the Foundation. Grants awarded this year shall promote quality eye care, maternal and child health, control and elimination of neglected tropical diseases, and promote teachers’ training in Akwa Ibom, Borno, Lagos, Edo, Imo, Plateau, and Taraba states, and the Federal Capital Territory.  The interventions are expected to impact an estimated 50,000 direct beneficiaries across the states. The TY Danjuma Foundation envisions a Nigeria where all people have access to affordable healthcare, education and opportunities to realize their potentials. Since inception in 2009, the Foundation has supported over 280 projects across 30 states in preventing blindness and other diseases of the poor as well as in promoting access to quality health, education and economic opportunities.
