The TY Danjuma Foundation is a private Nigerian philanthropic grant making organisation that seeks to transform the lives of Nigerians mainly in rural communities through support to Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) which implement projects in the key areas of community health and education & skills training.

In 2014 the TYDF gave grants for the implementation of 25 projects. These projects are in their inception phase. A mandatory activity for all new projects is a baseline study. Baseline studies are used by the foundation to provide contextual, theoretical and practical basis for framing and informing implementation and monitoring.

The Foundation hereby seeks reputable and experienced consultants to support the baseline studies, scheduled to take place in February 2015.

The specific activities for this assignment include to:

1. Support and train grantees and TYDF staffs in:

a. Basic social research methodology,

b. Design of baseline studies and data collection instruments

c. Data collection methods

2. Support TYDF and Foundation grantee staff to conduct baseline studies

3. Support the analysis of data generated for the baseline studies

4. Collate and consolidate all the individual project baseline study reports into one/two.

Application modalities:

Interested consultants are encouraged to submit Expressions of Interest/applications, to act as resource persons for the cluster baseline studies and the related activities. Applications should include detailed curriculum vitae and one sample of previous related research or other report undertaken, in addition to names and contact details of two referees.

Requirements:

The consultants/ researchers must have a credible and proven track record.

Selection criteria:

Selection will be based on the quality of sample work, CVs and references.
